Shieldball: Technical Mechanics
Game Structure

Player Roles
Throwers
- Can throw the ball to eliminate opponents
- Can attempt to catch incoming balls (no special effect beyond avoiding elimination)
Shield-Bearers
- Equipped with padded shields
- Can block thrown balls to protect teammates
- Cannot throw the ball unless there are no more Throwers 'alive'
Elimination Rules

Round Progression
Starting Phase
- Teams take their positions on opposite sides of the field
- Balls are placed at the center
- On signal, players rush to grab balls
Game Play
- Players throw balls to eliminate opponents
- Shield-bearers attempt to block incoming shots
- Game continues until one team is fully eliminated
Advanced Rules & Variations
Traditional Dwarven Rules
- Games are played as best-of-5 rounds
- If a shield-bearer catches a ball, they can switch to a thrower for the next round
Underground League Rules
- Shield-bearers can also throw, but they have to wear a thick leather glove
- Thrown balls rebound off walls
