Rhazgul
Real Name: Rhazgul (Rahz-gool)
Common Name: The Claw
Domains: War, Beasts, Blood, Instinct
Visibility: Rises without warning, often the night before great hunts, battles, or territorial shifts. Only ever visible at night, and never for more than 9 hours.
Proximity: Near orbit. Appears massive and unnervingly low, casting reddish-gold light that disrupts compass readings and muddles scent trails.
Appearance: A jagged, blood-hued moon with three glowing claw-mark slashes across its surface. Trails a faint haze like warm breath in cold air. Its light is known to trigger howls and violent dreams.
Mythic Role: Tribes say Rhazgul is the beast that circles Nexora, testing her young for strength. Warriors and predators believe their rage is answered by its light. It is worshipped, feared, and sometimes hunted in ritual combat by moonmarked berserkers.
Mechanical Influence: While The Claw is visible, melee attacks score a critical threat on a natural 19–20. Beasts and beast-kin (natural predators, lycanthropes, etc.) gain +2 to Strength and Constitution, but must save or enter bloodlust each round they take damage. All healing effects are halved.
Tied Realms or Moons: Tied to the Veldt Beyond, a spirit-wild where only predators exist, and the moon never sets. Entry requires defeat of one’s totem in mortal combat beneath Rhazgul’s light.
"She rises with fang in hand and hunger in her throat. If you feel no fear, you are already prey." — Last Rite of the Bloodfang Howlers
